    I Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed that display :p

It is so nice, and that price isn't too bad either. The question is, a nice new silver 21" Sony or a nice flat TFT :sigh:

Shame I don't have the money for either:lol:

I've been soo tempted with dual 17" tft's at the moment... the price is getting far more attractive but still out of my reach too :)

I did consider that LCD, looks very nice but in the end I went for a second hand Sony 21" instead. It was slightly cheaper, and I think I've made the right decision. I got over the lack of desk space by having a corner desk with a section just for my PC, and another desk for working on PCs and doing paperwork.

I might change it for an LCD once the technology develops more, and when I can afford an uber large one

EDIT: Very good review though, nice and informative.

BTW Moose - how did you find playing games on it? Was it still clear or did it seem fussy at all?

Thanks for the comments guys.. my review wasnt exhaustive, so feel free to ask any questions :)

Thanks for the news post inder, much appreciated.

The monitor is pretty clear for games in general, the only time you're going to notice any fuzz is when the game defaults to say 640x480 or something.. GTA3 looks crystal clear on it, so long as you get the resolution close to its native res of 1280x1024.

Once you get used to a LCD there are no going back :)

The only thing is that you should try to always run at the screens native reolution or the image _can_ look quite bad.

Well, you can pick them up from £470 - £550 I think. Right now, I don't own any, I've just got it on loan.. mind you, I'm very inclined to invest!

Mashie hit the nail on the head there..

    me wanty so much!

I soo want a 19" tri-display (three). Imagine having 3 of these babies (except 19" instead of 17") mounted on a wall, side by side. I've always needed a flatscreen, the desk space saved is unmeasurable (my current 19" is at least 1.5ft deep if not more). But will it be worth the investment of 3000 to have three 19" TFT displays?

Nice review, and i agree, TFT's are the best - my 15" is my best investment recently.

Anyway, cant you set different resolutions on each output of your 8500? I know i can on my 7500.....used to run 17" CRT @ 1280x1024 and 15" CRT at 1024x768......

I never managed when I tried playing a few months ago.. maybe with newer driver revisions cooler toys have been implimented. I'd try again, but my main rig is gathing dust at the momment motherboard-less. :(

Oh, ok. Latest are catalyst drivers. Also if you do go dual, get a proggy called Coolmon, lets you have seperate taskbars and loadsa cool stuff.
Hope your main pc gets better :p

I just use standard windows XP monitor set up for doing dual display with radeon cards. It picks up both heads by default, windows 2000 doesn't. Have to use nView on the Geforce 4 tho

Is the PV720a good enough for games and DVDs?

I know that you said in your PV520 review that there was no blurring that you could tell but is this still the case in its big bro'?

And also what's the quality like when playing DVDs etc? (Is the viewing angle really an issue?)

    btw really good review

I have bought a Samsung 172T and am very happy with it. DVD looks better on it that on my CRT, the picture is very sharp and clear. Its about an inch thick and its gaming performance is great. I love it!

I think that I’ll get the CTX if there isn't any blurring
