Looks great Gtek...I'm starting to look at a scratch build for my next mini-ITX rig as well....good job so far (but not enough GPU power :D)...

Thanx, and good luck with yours.... Yeah, I had to compromise to keep the whole thing in small.

Another update, this time with chassis almost finished. Few more bits and it will be ready for the primer

I still wish you good luck with the glueing there of the whole backpanel-construction ;)

Don't get me wrong m8. If it holds and doesn't fail after some 6-12 month in use, then more power toyou, as the constuction itself is quiet nicely done :dremel:

I think of doing something like this for a few month now, but don't want lot's of screws nor aluminium glued together, so maybe I'm going to my local metal-worker to have some steel welded instead.
Get's alittle bit heavier, but in SFF-size it's not as dramatic as with full ATX cases.

Are you going to paint the aluminium afterwards?

Don't know, hope it stays as it is, just now. Do you think that epoxy will degrade after some time or something? I don't expect any additional stress or load to the joins after all mounted together so I would say it will last. I mean, we will see, but...

Yes, it will get primer, alpine white and clear lacquer for extra protection.

I had to "improve" the fans a bit, to save some space for shell mountings :D

I finished the front panel a while ago, and I'm really happy that it's done. I was not really sure if I will manage to get a decent result cutting it by hand, considering the dimensions and that, and I was ready do get it laser cut, but I think I came out ok.

The front panel looks excellent, I like the vent slits you made, looks pretty precise for hand cut stuff to me.

Is that slot-load drive a SATA drive? If so, where you bought yours? :p

Yes it's a slot load sata dvd writer, but it's actually a mini-sata and you still need an adapter if you want to use it with desktop mobo and psu... the adapter is that black thing at the back of it... and I got mine from scan.co.uk

Ehh.. it's a cube! What i carefully try to say is that I don't like the design, sorry about that :(

Project BETA on the other hand, that's more like it :)
And I do like the building skills on this one too. Something exotic coming with the finish?
