    Goo is currently on holiday in Florida. After wandering around the Florida Mall, We suddenly felt a sudden tug in one direction down the building. There was no escaping it - MrsGOO and I had fallen into the gravity well known as the APPLE STORE! :eeek:

    Of course, it would have been rude in the extreme not to buy something after entering, especially with the favourable exchange rate... But I was in two minds about it. There's nothing wrong with my PowerBook. But then the rarest of rare things happened. Mrs GOO talked me into buying a computer. Yeah, I know. Must have been some sort of rare planetry alignment going on. :eyebrow:

    So, to skip to the end, my credit card got a bending - to the tune of one 2.16Ghz Macbook Pro (1GB, 256Mb GFX, 100GB HDD)

    So I'm using said machine (it's soooo nice! iMovie just Flies!!!) now to post this, sitting in a villa watching Floridians attempt to play golf at the bottom of the garden (No offence if you're from Florida - it's just these guys are hopeless)

    Anybody want to buy a mint condition 1.5Ghz PPC PowerBook? :D

    yes goo... they are lurvely (and yes, old farts in florida really can't play golf)

    I *heart* my 15.4" 2ghz/512/80 model... though will most likely upgrade the memory in it soon... even though it runs significantly faster than the quad g5 sitting in my computer room at home... and my athlon64 system as well... I'm waiting on the conversion of the power macs before I buy another system (though I'm damn tempted to buy a base model mac mini....)

    i was at that same Mall just a couple of months ago (april), its the biggest shopping arcade ive ever been in, its huge :D The americans that work in that store are very good at selling things, i ended up coming out with a new .mac account and ilife 06 and a lovely bluetooth wireless mouse :D

    just beware of the Cinnabon stands! you can smell them halfway across the mall and they lure you in! ohhh...



    ah anyway.... WELCOME TO AMERICAN MALLS! hideous places really. though i love the apple store.

    Body is back. Brain still in Florida... Or at least it feels that way.

    If you suddenly hear a large thunk followed by snoring, I've lost my fight with jet lag and will be using my Work PC keyboard as a pillow. ;)

    Why not take a stroll down by the beach? Maybe Mrs. Goo will convince you to buy an island mansion, a teak decked yacht, and Latin American poolboy - since the exchange rate is low.
