The 690 II is very nice, but more expensive than the 690. CM claims "it's not a direct replacement, despite having the same name". Stupid if you ask me.
Is that a hot-swap HDD bay at the top? Other than that it looks just like every other gaming case ATM...
if you are like this, than you don't want to know that fact is, the moment a new computer hardware arrives in store shelfs (online or offline store), it's already obsolete, and the same manufacture already has the next version sitting on their own shelf to be released in the case of failure, or interesting competition. In computers... you ALWAYS lose!
I spent aaaaages looking up a wacam intuos 3 and deciding whether or not to buy it. Did loads and loads of research. I bought it and a month later they introduced the wacom intuos 4. NOWHERE did i see any press release for it. I was furious! S*** happens unfortunately!
i dont think so - if they had they would have re-badged the 690 as the 790 and made it look like a new generation product.
+ 1 lol, and @ Bindi , it isn't a direct replacement but its in the same under $100 catergory meaning it will likely be in competition, and c'mon let's tthing about it for a second, the Pure version of the 690 I retails for about £70, the ADVANCED version of the CM 690 II retails for £90 which makes a reasonable prediction of £70 for the basic.... also, it's cheaper than the HAF 922, and actually I got to say I could see them going toe to toe I mean the HAF my have gargantuan fans that threaten to starve you yourself of air but this one can apparantly fit 11? 120/140mm fans... insanity
The 690 is still a nice case, and the 690 costs more, so it's not like you've been ripped off. It's the nature of the game. Some companies play things close to their chests to prevent someone stealing a march on a product. If your 690 was crap, I'd be annoyed, but I wouldn't worry.
You can sell your 690 case to the rest of us for super cheap seeing as it's now obsolete and no longer a good case
I'm trying to see what else is different for the extra £20 - It's painted black on the inside, and has removable HDD bays... anything else? <3 my 690 (old one )
