The PSU will probably go back inside the case if it goes anywhere. Again, I had it in there once, I just didnt have it cleanly anchored. That is a big problem with a case this small is attaching everything so that nothing rattles yet everything has good airflow. Someday.... If I had to see the psu sitting on my desk I'm sure I would work harder at installing (reinstalling) it.
Actually, I did a lot of work to that ATX unit. I shortened the 20 pin connector by desoldered all the leads off the PSU board. Cut off over a foot of the wire harness, and soldered it back on. I had also removed most of, and shortened the remaining four pin connectors. Then I found a reasonably priced 1U unit....and got lazy.

delbert, where did you get that 1U PSU and how much did it cost?

last one I found was at power-on.com that was reasonably priced but the wanted and arm, leg and both testicles to ship it back to the UK.

I picked up this PSU here at Jameco . I dont know if they do, or how much it cost to ship over the pond but the PSU itself is only $31 USD. It seems to work fine for me. Except that I am catching lots of flack for not taking the time to install it internally.:) Someday

Yeah I guess. I just knew someone would ask "where is the PSU". You know the saying (probably yankee stuff guys) "If a tree falls in the forest....Well if the power supply can not be seen, does it need to be? I see it like the printers or other peripherals(sp?) that have the "brick" power supply mid cord. It is easer to deal with than a wall wort and the vendor doesnt have to fit it inside the device. Each 3.5 X 15.5 X 48 inch cavity behind my desk backboard can hide alot of messy stuff.

    Hi,

Would you please take a picture of that thing you used to bend the plastic sheets? Thanks.

And how did you get it so accurate?

Form? I just cut and nailed four boards together. Then I rounded the edges with a router.
