A wile back I bought a Logitech G9. And while it's a good mouse I still think the old MX series are more comfortable (previous mice have been both MX500 and MX510). The advantage of the G9 is the replaceable body shells. I was thinking about creating my own hand-shaped shell, but I'm unsure how this could be done. So, Does anybody have any good idea on how to do this?
About the best way (imo) would be to buy a new shell for it, then model on top of that. That way it'll definately fit properly onto the mouse when you've finished.
I recently got a G9 to replace an oem MS laser mouse that was basically crap (imagine that!) Was considering modding the smaller shell for looks and keeping the larger shell with the rubbery feel for everyday use. The extra "thumb support" on that version is great for keeping my thumb from dragging on the pad while playing. Had noticed in case of screwing things up, Logitech sells shells for $5. Not sure of availability where you're at, but would love to see what you can do with it.
You could make a mould of the inside of it, the bit that connects to the mouse, and then model something on top of the negative
