hi my first post oin here so be nice?
i need to extend my power supply cables for my graphics cards, but i was also planning on reworking them as they are quite cramped around the gpu,

this is my crude attempt to explain via ms paint
the top picture is the current cable and below it is what i would like to do? my question is would this have any implications on the supply to the gpu having it split immediately from the psu?

    many thanks

I do not see any problem with this as long as you do it correct. There would be no problem with it split like that. I think it would be better for the second plug since it is connected directly to the psu, and not through another plug which would cause it to lose a little bit of electricity.

With the voltage levels involved, I'd be amazed if there was any difference between either of the wiring options.

The only thing that will impact it will be the quality of the solder, but even then the amount would be so little.
