hey all i made some custom heat spreaders for my ram the other day and took some pics so i thought i would post them here and see what you guys think pic #1: this first pic was taken at night, its not too clear but the copper looks nice in this lighting i think: pic #2: there are quite a lot of scratches on the one at the top here, but they are not as visable in real life. pic #3: the heat spreaders are made from a piece of copper 0.5mm thick and the lettering and axes were cut from 0.5mm aluminium.. i made some little rectangles of copper and stuck them to the ram chips, to raise the heat spreaders away from the ram modules, as i was a bit worried about them touching the soldered points... everything was stuck together with arctic silver's thermal adhesive. the ram modules are covered on both sides, but the same designs were used on both. - happy modding!
thanks. no, they dont interfere. in my motherboard the first 2 ram modules have to be placed in slots next to each other and there is just enough room so that they dont touch, so the other 2 slots are still usable
