I own one and personally I really like it. Then again I like a larger mouse (hard to find a mouse for people with big hands), and I don't mind the weight. My only real gripe is the mouse cord. I haven't had the sensitivity issues that most have reported (just lucky maybe?). Ill admit its not for everyone but for me its perfect.

I think it looks awesome, so its not perfect but good on Saitek for trying something different.

    My next mouse. ;)

Perhaps I'd get the 9 version?

It just looks way too gimmicky for me to EVER have one on my desk. I have the 3,5 and 7 around, and have asked a couple of less-geek mates for their opinions "what the.." "are you kidding me?" pretty much wraps it up.

It's not bad and I appreciate them for trying something new, but meeeeeeeh.

I've read complaints about tracking issues as well. For that price I'd rather get a Razer Mamba but for now my 3 year old DeathAdder is doing just fine.

Theyve taken a simple design and added bling to it, and overcomplicated it. Will this sell atall lol?

I bought a PM42 Cyborg gaming mouse a few years back. the software to configure the mouse and set DPI profiles was so difficult that in the end i didnt bother with it and just gave it away n just carried on using my Logitech G7 which the cyborg was meant to replace till i eventually got a Logitech G9....but the G9 is currently also on the chopping board

You guys say it's heavy, but how heavy? perhaps a weight comparison or something might be interesting?

I'd like to feel it before buying but then I'm not in the market for a new mouse - my MX518 is just fine.

I'll stick with my Razer deathadder it's been accurate and has the right amount of buttons for me. Maybe I'm an old school FPS player but I always was under the impression that you should be playing the whole time at one sensitivity. Like you set it low and use big strokes or set it higher and be pinpoint accurate, but when I started my fps career we didn't even have optical mice let alone multiple sensitivities to change on the fly, feels like cheating?

I own one and haven't had any tracking issues, or that sensitivity problem and it works as advertised I guess... The only gripe I have with the mouse is the packaging and the silk screen on the side red "precision" button. The silkscreen is completely gone because of use (and its only been about 2-3 weeks)... but over all I like it. Hopefully it won't have that left click issue like its predecessor did...

    +1

You can buy an MX518 for under £18.00 on Amazon now which is pretty amazing value for a great mouse.

I know I may be shouted down, but my sneaking suspicion is that 99% of people would not actually get any benefit from spending more money unless you either must have wireless or a dozen buttons for WoW macros.

The MX518 is the de-facto mouse. Hell I finally got myself one, never could imagine how i could live without it previously.
