Your level of expertise and craftsmanship astonishes me, i have absolute faith that whatever decision on the design you take will fully compliment the overall build.

The finishing line is within your sights, i am sure you will not let that deter you from prolonging the perfection that is CYGNUS X1.

    Truly outstanding.

    Dare_Devil. Thanks. :)

Removed a lot of material around the blocks and the panel opens all the way.

So now I can do it all over again for the other side. :D

Oldnewby, that honestly has got to be one of the most perfect scratchbuilds I've ever witnessed. I'm in awe of your work, mate. Absolutely gorgeous. I'd be proud of having that thing on my desk. Well, not a thing. It's too beautiful to call it that. It needs a female's nickname! :)

I absolutely agree with E.E.L. Ambiense. This project combines the softness and warmth of the wood on the outside with the cold shining hardness of the metal on the inside - just like a woman.

You know, you're right, but as I was looking at it with the side panel open fully, all I was thinking about was winged robots.
No slight intended in anyway, of course. It truly is fantastic, and really this is the moment when I can fully imagine it at completion. Love the choice of wood and the final look!

    Lol! Fantastic sentence!

Lol... I'd really love to have ctrl-z. (undo!)

i can't believe how great this case is turning out. i thought it was incredible when it got back from the anodizers, i didn't realize i could get so much better.

is the plan to have wood go inbetween the side panels too, or is that going to be exposed?

    Thanks Javerh. :thumb:

Thanks a lot mate. :thumb: Cygnus is Latin for swan so I guess at a stretch it could be
    considered feminine. ;)

Thanks DD. :) I think I've known some women like that.

Haha, yeah, but then I'd be stuck with two right handed hinges.

    Thank you. :)

    Thanks MM. :thumb:

    Thanks John. :thumb:

Thanks. :) Well about five minutes ago it was going to be polished alu overlapping segments
over the top and front. Now there will be a wooden, shaped insert in the top with the segments in that, in five minutes I don't know what it's going to be. Ideas come and go like
    paychecks.

This case is a masterpiece, the detail in your metalwork and the shape is beautiful, then you wrap it in the lovely wood goodness, finest case I've seen in years. Top marques fella.

When are you going to reveal that I helped you with the woodwork? :nono: I wish!

Edit: to clarify, I can't do that woodwork to save my life!
