Did you really get that done at an engravers? Finish doesn't look too neat to me and the lettering doesn't seem square across the rows. With your new found plexi expertise I bet you could do a better job! Print out the design, stick it onto mdf or similar, cut out the letters and you've got yourself a router template. Simple!......:worried:
Do it, do it, do it, do it!:dremel:

It doesn't look too good does it. It's one of those things that looks worse the more you look at it. Good idea with the router, but the letters are pretty small and would be a nightmare to cut out for a template. Has got me thinking though and looking into getting a plotter/cutter to do lettering. Liking your rocking chair project :thumb:

Cheers John, don't you know P's are a rarity these days ?

Yup definitely one of those ouch moments :D

Thanks mate. It's got neglected due to my girlfriends birthday and issues with my new mobo, but managed to get a little done when the sun came out sunday. Not enough for an update but will be doing some more tonight.

I was unsure if to say anything incase 'the engravers' was your dremmel. Lol but would be a shame not to redo since the rest is all so bang on the money.

Thanks Guys, everyone here is so polite  I've taken off the plate (for now) and will get back to it later, I should be able to find a solution. I still have a fair bit left to do so I'm not gonna get a 'P' get in the way :D

    Thanks for the quick answers.

Ive got one more question if you have time...

What speed do you usually have the dremel on when cutting acrylic with the 561?

Sorry to hear about the spelling on the etching. Cant wait for more updates!

The etching isn't really a problem, but thanks anyway. :) With the 561 I tried a few different speeds and found that the max speed (35,000) gave the better surface finish, but it still wasn't great. I did start using a fine toothed saw in the end as it was saving a lot of filing. If I was to do this again I'd do a lot more research into cutting plexi. At the moment I'm considering investing in a laser cutter/etcher....but they're not cheap, I'd maybe consider doing jobs for other modders but don't know what the interest would be

I'm in for the P as for no matter how improbable, it can exist. ;)

I always think if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all. :worried: :D

Oh dear, :wallbash: I didn't even notice first time round. I was too busy admiring the great craftsmanship. Shame. I'm sure you can fix it with the trusty Dremel... :dremel: :D

    UPDATE 23/03/12
I haven't updated for about a week, lots on and I've been busy but I have finished off all that sanding and more importantly managed to fix my P problem.

The lil spelling mistake was probably a blessing in disguise, the end result wasn't that great and it soon became clear that I'd have to get it lasered. After a lot of searching and very nearly buying my own laser, I got lucky and found a guy who takes on jobs. It saved me a lot of dosh and this guy is amazing, he put so much effort into getting what I wanted correct. Not only that he also done some extra pieces so I could have a choice.
Chris sent me through some pics of the jobs on his laser and I very pleased with the result. It's going to take some big desicion making and will put it to a poll. For now here's those pics.

The extra jobs include front panels and the ROG logo from earlier posts, saves me buggering about with tiny letters and paint, the result is much better than painting. The front panels have the words 'Please don't press this button again' on them I'm hoping they'll be concealed until the power button is pressed and the LED illuminates

Will post pics tomorrow of the finished case before taking apart again to sort the cooling and other bits.

    Stay Froody
