i dont think they have done anything about either competition run
Any word on the winner yet?
we're waiting for the winner to accept the prize at the moment... an email was sent out three days ago - if we don't get a response in the next four days, the prize will be re-drawn.
Nope - oh well not everyone can be a winner kinda gutted for the winner if he/she doesn't accept in time ....
maybe his/her spam filter got it? have you pm'd as well?
I won, my names Nigel.

Gah, never goes to the "Actual" members of the forums.
maybe they should make the comps to ppl who have made a minimum amount of posts , and not joined the forum just to try and win the prize , if thats the case here
They are trying to get more traffic to the forums as thats where they generate most ad-clicks.
oh i know what your saying here i was just replying to the above post , i think tbh it was obvious a new poster would win lol , im wasnt really bothered if i won it or not
My thought exactly...
Calm down lads - there's no conspiracy here. All prize entries went into one pool the winner was chosen at random. There is no direct cross-referencing of entries with forum member names at the time of the draw, so there was no way to know whether the winner had one post or 1,000 posts.
I'm sure if I went back through the archives, I would find plenty of past competitions won by regulars. At the end of the day, you have to be in it to win it and everyone has an equal chance of winning.
Keep trying and better luck next time.
i can see what you mean and i can also see what the upset ones mean , as the winner had joined and won , lucky on his part yes but its bound to make the odd one a bit miffed . me personally its a comp if i win iwin if i loose ah well thats life
that's pretty much it isn't it
how often does anyone win any competitions
also, the competition was for bit tech readers, and not forum users, people may read the bit tech stuff, but never post, there's nothing wrong with doing that
To be fair i'm sure any competition on bit-tech is drawn fairly and without bias. I'm one of the lucky ones who have won a prize but when I did so the competition in question required a certain number of forum posts iirc. I didn't have many posts over that number but still got drawn, as did people for the other prizes with far more posts than i had!
Agree. Like MrWillyWonka who won the last 2 or 3 competitions.
Hey, I am a hard working man who just got lucky.
Sorry you all feel p____d off by not winning and I just joined the forum, but I am afraid thats just life.
congrats nigel, enjoy your lovely new card when you get it dude
