Hey all, Just a quick question about DABS RMA process, anyone have any recent experiences with them? had a search on the site and off the posts are from around 2007. Had to RMA my gfx card due to it making a noise which I really wasnt happy with but only at main menus and loading screens, the noise kinda freaked me out and for a GPU of near £300 I wasnt pleased. Getting a refund and the girl on the phone was very very helpful, Any idea how long the refund will take? On annother note I contacted Dunc for one of his deals since he was giving away free games with an ati 5870 I chanced my arm and he gave me too free games Since I've ordered a 2nd replacement card from them and the hassel I had with the first, thats good service. And any previous good / bad experiences with them?
i had to rma a tv/dvd combo i got for my daughter las year. after 11 months it packed up. i had to send it back myself, but dabs had a new one with me in 7 days. i thought the service was good, it would have been excellent if they had picked up the tv.
Just sent it back to them today... even though my pickup was for yesterday lol silly DHL. Hopefully there able to replicate the problem, happens ever time playing stalker and is really bad in folding at home but stalker is really bad.
Silly question incoming but...... Have you tried using the PC since you sent teh card back? (have you got another GPU to try) The reason i ask is that i had this problem, but it was actually the PSU making the noise, whenever something graphical was being processed.
Oh its definitely the graphics card, I've gotten down and put my ear right beside the card and can hear it quite clearly, plus it doesnt sound exactly like normal coil whine if im honest, I recorded a video this afternoon before the card got picked up. Also tried it with both of my PSU's in the system and both times the noise came from the card. Check that video out that shows it off really well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM594p8Krtg
Bought a Hard Drive from Dabs last year and it failed multiple times after about 2 weeks. I would have preferred a replacement model but gave me a full refund. (The price had gone up by £10 since I bought it and they actually refunded me for the increased price) But overall, never had a problem returning anything to them before.
Brilliant thats what I wanted to hear, hopefully they'll be able to replicate the problem, if not I've videos on youtube which I'll send them, the last video particulary highlights it
