Ok well i just got given an Asetek Waterchill for my bday (yes today wooo wish my happy birthday lol) Anyway, i have a socket A CPU, yes i want 64 bit, i also need lots of money. Well unfortuantely the Antarctica CPU block tha came with it, doesnt fit. Cus of those fat capactiors around the motherboard, now i thought about chopping the offending moounting holes off, but its VERY tough perspex. Does asetek send you one that fits free of charge, do they even make one? Or do i have to spend some money on some dangerden stuff tht might fit my motherboard. Also if it should drill a hole in the top of my case for a 120mm fan, how big should the actually hole be, cus i know its not 120mm. A little bit under i presume. (For mounting the radiator btw)

I thought they usually also include a socket A top which has a smaller profile.... try calling them and ask.

The lity should fit Socket A its only socket T that has a different lid for antartica.

Time for the :dremel: and chop off the offending bits. This is not unkown with theis block and socket A. If you want to be able to use it for an A64 later make sure you leave those mountings alone if possible.

Oh and the kit should work well. I rate it :D

I could just chop them off but this stuff looks like solid material and the whole idea of me gettings a kit was 2 literally just put it straight in, i just hope asetek have friendly teck support

Their own forums are at http://forum.vapochill.com/ and its pretty helpfull there.

Now lookign into it there appears to be a socket A lid that migth be a little smaller, though again I should say that the originsal lid would work if the caps hadn't strayed into the reserved areas.

If you want to mod the lid I think you can cut with a dremel or hacksaw. particlarly if its just the S478 fixings which you don't need.

Move the offending capacitors :dremel: That's what I'd do anyway...

What is it with Socket A boards they seem to push it to the limit to squeeze the largest components and close to the socket as they can :wallbash:

I have to hack into the HSF with allof the (cheaper) SoA boards I've inflicked on my in-laws.
