i just bought a dance pad off geeks.com an off brand pad but it works great with my pc, it had no latency and very responsive sensors.

    http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DMATT-FF-NB&cpc=SCH&srm=0

i am also using an off brand usb to playstation control adaptor

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8216272223

both of these work extremly well, there is one glitch though. When i step on the Left, Right, Up, and Down pads, they register as Axes, all the other buttons register as buttons. This is a problem because when you need to step on the left and right sensors at the same time, or the up and down sensors at the same time, only one sensor can register becuase an axis can only be right or left, or up or down, it cannot be right and left. Has anyone else had this issue? I have already tried, hooking up a PS2 controller and switching bettween Analog and Digital modes, when i hook the dance pad up it automaticly sets up for Digital mode. There is a total of 10 buttons on the dance pad, is there a way to set up the controller options for a 10 button game pad?

Any info on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has any questions please add a thread.

well due to the vauge instuctions of the ebay seller, if you hold start, up, and select for 3 seconds it will also map to buttons. thanks for the interest.

Donkey Konga is superior to DDR!
I agree with yodasarmpit thought, dance mat + drunkeness = fun.

    I'm useing stepmania.

    http://www.stepmania.com/stepmania/getstarted.php

It's a great (i guess you can call it an emulator). and speaking of drunkend parties with ddr. thats exactly what i did last night :thumb: . Ive never laughed so hard in my life! But it sucks slipping off the pads and busting your stuff.

Btw, you need to download the songs, art, and step patterns. And for legality reasons i cannot say where to download them from. :naughty:

I never really had much luck getting a ps2 pad working with those cheapo adapters, or even with the more expensive emsusb2 whatever ones from lik-sang. I ended up getting a couple of xbox/ps2 pads, which have proven to be pretty good at taken drunken abuse and an xbox->usb converter on ebay for cheap. Heck, you could just make one easy enough as they are both usb. Btw, stepmania is awesome.
