Will the standard Maze 4 GPU block allow for a PCI card in the slot below, or will I need to get the low-profile version of the block? What kind of performance drops are there with the low-profile version?

Not sure on the low-profile performance, but the normal maze 4 will block the PCI slot below it.

You need the low-profile version. There should be no difference in pressure drop, as the main constriction is in the copper plate half of the block, not in the pathway from the barbs to the copper plate in the Delrin half.

    (/me pops open V1000)

A PCI card won't fit one slot below the low-profile version either. There's plenty of clearance for a card two slots down, though.

Corsair sells a low profile block that allows two PCI or other cards to fit next to each other; P/N CWC100-1003. At the CES they showed an SLi setup with two cards on a MOBO using these cold-blocks. The fitting size is 3/8"

I can't remember, at this time, what review site had posted those photos. They were showing off the COOL and the newer unit of the Nautilus 500.

Here is the gpu-block on a single graphics card:

This last shot shows how close another card could fit.

Another option is to get an Alphacool / Aquacomputer etc block. They are all very low profile so should leave enough space.
