Hexus are reporting that Scan now take Paypal. Not just on the interweb, but also by phone or even at their trade counter in Blackburn!

This means that I'll no longer have to have Scan purchases delivered to "Cardholder's address only" because I have a Debit card.
Instead of getting home after work to find CityLink have left a postcard instead of my new PC porn.:wallbash:,
they'll have to deliver to my workplace where I can actually SIGN FOR STUFF!

Their trade counter isn't in Blackburn, it's Bolton. :p

Good news though - having separate addresses is a real benefit imo. :D

Fine for buying, a ****er if you sell stuff, always siding with the buyer, even if it is a blatant scam.

****ed me off enough times as an ebay powerseller to never want to EVER have to use that POS again.

For example, guy buys computer from us, which looks like a display item, brand new, we reformated it ( even though there was nothing installed, just removes all the extra crap they bundle with it these days ) sell it on ebay. Granted my friend put in the listing it had wifi, and a remote, when it didnt, however when he wanted to return the item for a refund, we said that we would pay for a usb wifi stick and remote, he stopped pestering. 30 days later, he put up a paypal dispute, of which paypal said on our behalf that we would accept the refund on the return on the item ,we aren't asked, we are TOLD that paypal as accepted ON OUR BEHALF. In ebays own rules its states 28days max time to return goods, hell, that means its not brand new anymore if some douche uses it! Luckily for us, the guys a dick wad and didnt return the item in 10 days.

Its weird, as the buyer opens a case against the goods and your payment, and as a seller you cant argue it and win, you HAVE to open another case against the first dispute to try and get the matter resolved!

Ebay and paypal are both going down the ****.

Similarly heard horror stories of iphones being 'returned', paypal auto refunding, and the seller getting a POS unnamed/branded mp3 player in return. ( guy off this forum i think?).

Great for buying stuff, a ****er for selling. But you'd get booted off ebay for even mentioning the word google checkout! Not very fair to me, a bit of a monopoly on the market! You have to accept paypal as payment these days, its just more more more money in their big fat pockets.

The ****ing seller > buyer feedback removal was also a stupid idea.

    Rant over XD ^_^

Yep. Dead Caribou are more fun than paypal. Hell, heroin withdrawal is probably more fun. Paypal is an epic idea, just so poorly implemented. They could have an utter monopoly if they were ever so slightly more reputable. Fools.

PayPal is a brilliant idea, and one which I am hesitant to use as a seller for the reasons noted above. However, for those same reasons, it's pretty much my favorite method of purchasing online. Using PayPal means I can buy things from whatever little hole-in-the-wall merchant I find online, and never for a moment have to worry that my identity is being stolen or my money is being taken with no intention of shipping an item.

using paypal for expensive computery stuff is a bad idea as you lose all the extra protection youd get when paying by credit card...

as for the sending it to a different address issue, i've definately ordered stuff from scan in the past that wasnt sent to my cards registered address...

Fathazza - They'll send stuff to another address if you pay by credit card, but with a debit card (which is all I have), it's "cardholder's address only".

+1 on both... once sold a PC on Evilbay, acceping Evilpay and the seller returned it because "it was dirty on arrival"

Obviously they never saw the "no returns accepted" under the returns policy, and the retards at Paypal didn't give a monkey's...
