    Nice!

Are you using AutoCAD to draw the components then exporting as a dxf or using the software that came with the CNC machine?

If I could only use the uni CNC suite :grr:

    $900,000 of modding goodness

I miss my uni's metal shop.. we had mills, lathes, and all sorts of mechanized goodies that I played with... can we say .80 cal cannon?
Beautiful work there! looking forward to seeing what will happen next.

I don't use Autocad, but a CAD-CAM software expressly realized for the CNC machine I use.

For Dark Blade engineering and construction was used a Cad-Cam software, a modular system for CNC tool machine. Using it is possible create complex manufactures. The main 4 steps to obtain a single manufactured part are:

    1- PARTPROGRAM
A Partprogram defines, using specifical instructions, geometry and technology of the part to work. These instructions are really a program language.

    2- PROCESSOR
The Processor translates the Partprogram instructions, controls syntax, defines and generates tool ways.

    3- SIMULATOR
The Simulator is an important Cad-Cam section, permitting the tool way visualization, controlling the exact working executions (often with more tools) and watching for possible toll-piece collisions. Great simulation importance is verifying the right raw material removal. The simulated tool way will be accurately reproduced during the CNC tool machine working.

    4- POST-PROCESSOR
The Partprogram language is translate from the Post-Processor; it generates the file containing tool machine CNC instruction. The file is transferred to the tool machine control unit, that understands it and works to make up the programmed manufactures.

see you soon... - work in progress.

Following you can see two images of an initial project about a foot.

2ndlly, when we define our final foot's project, we should chose how to light it.
