it was quite the treat to take a break from reading this log to come back 4 months later and pickup where I left off. Amazing work - the etched glass is pure class.
Okay I joined the forums so that I could say OH MY GOD AWESOME you have inspired me to attempt my first mod project and well granted it will be no where near the godlikeness of yours I will do my best and learn and improve over time ^^
H-o-l-y S-h-*-t! It looks awsome! incredible! beatyfull! 1. How old are you? 2. Are you going to paint those white-silver "stands" on the sides?
Great work G69T, I find it astounding that when you look at this case, the only parts you didnt make yourself are the PC parts and the screws that hold your artwork togeather. Truely amazing, I hope you will keep dazzling us with your custom machines. Although if you can top Dark Blade I think the universe would implode
Damn i remember browsing this thread back in 05, now look at it! And i thought it was impressive then!!! My god man your wifes an absolute saint is all i can say hehe . But seriously m8 that is one of the most if not THE most impressive case i have ever seen, certainly simply on the level of custom crafting involved it beats almost every other mod i've seen, certainly every metal custom case and watercooled mods i've ever seen. Think everyone on these forums would sell their first born to own that . I think you balanced out the detail across the case perfectly aswell, considering that you have a do it when you get the idea way of construction it's even more impressive that you didn't run into lots of mistakes along the way. But you took your time and didn't rush anything, something i'm not sure i'll ever be able to do hehe . What else to say other than GRATS GRATS GRATS!!! *round of appaluse for G69T*
It's a few time I never post anything. That's about I apologize with all you. For this detail, I have used a row aluminium flat (20 millimeter thickness) worked on the CNC milling machine. I used two holes for te bottom part and only one hole for te top. ( Like saying from gometro33 ) The measures of the Dark Blade are millimeters: The Water Station base 400x400 (470x470 with the guards of the swords) The Water Station height 150 (295 with guards and feet) The case base 350x350 (410x410 with the swords) The case base height 365 and the ttal height of the mod is 660. The total weight of the mod is 52Kg! 1. 1969! 2. The swords are anodized in silver color, I don't paint this detail. The support base.... I don't know when I will have the free time to construct the support base of the Dark Blade... ############################################ I like so much your appreciating. I'd like to thank all of you!!! bye bye Gianluca
WOW! Dark Blade in the "Mod of the Year 2006" competition. That's an honor for me the running with this great list of the mods. Good luck to all! Gianluca
oh ya you totally dont deserve that =p ya right, your case is sooo kickass its one of the best case builds I have scene so far, you so deserve top honors.
that's the one I can tell you how your mod redefine the word MOD you push us over the edge and we will have to work hard to hope doing something like that you have alot of professional tools to help you but all have to know how the conception work behind the tools is great... Nice mod man totaly awesome.
I have a loss for words... I have my own cnc mill, and I think it's hard enough to mill aluminium sheets. Incredible machining skills! The design aspect of this .. uhmm.. thing, is also out of this world. Just amazing work.
Way to go G69T, How many people are you going to bring here, I can remember of at least 5 people who made their first post here, and I don't have a great memory. Love it
Hi G69t. As everyone knows, your mod is amazing and shows a mastery of the CNC machine and Aluminum. I'm trying my own atempt at using Aluminum and I seek some of your knowledge. I'm trying to figure out how to get a black satin finish on the aluminum. I really like the color and sheen of the anodized aluminum on your case but I am wondering how much prep work is involved before it can be anodized and get a nice, even finish. I noticed on some of your pieces, including the motherboard tray, that there are tons of very fine scratches that look like they came from a sander. I was wondering if those come out during anodizing or what kind of state of finish the aluminum has to be in order to get a nice smooth finish like yours. Thanks very much in advance.
