The way I see it, with it being open frame so no sides or lid, that's $350USD for half a case...

 

I understand that open test bench "cases" are useful for some people who a) don't live with small children, b) don't have pets, c) aren't married or living with a significant other, and possibly, d) live in a hermetically sealed environment where dust is not an issue...

...but $350 for what is basically a frame? OK, it's more aesthetically pleasing than the sort of thing I could bang together with £40 of bits from my local DIY shop, but seriously... $350?

 

And to think, when I was mending computers my 'open frame testing case' was a plywood board with some standoffs screwed into it.

 

Ironically at 10KGs it still weights the same as a regular mid tower, so you are pretty much still buying the same amount of processed metal despite only getting half a case.

 

You must have had the next model up from my "empty motherboard box" version. That one comes without standoffs.
