    Hi.

Here my new project. After the Lan Machine Interface i made some works (soon you'll see the pics of the most important before this) this is the last.
I started this Log in the Mashie.org forum, so this first post is a bit long to run a little :)

As the title says it will be a watercooled Shuttle. Still i need to decide some details, but here we go with the pics:

    Some useless stuff

First cuts: The front. Later was needed to cut a little more.

First cuts: Rear. Pass throught for the tubing and rad. Of course, the fan grill also blew up XD

The BLIM. Unfortunately isn`t the custom fittings version. Is for 3/8".

The duct for the rad. An old PSU fan adapted and black painted.

The pump: Swiftech mcp350 or Danger Den DCC or... Anyway enought small for the shuttle.

Testing the VGA WB. It`s a homemade wb for the AGP 6600GT. Made by P0stman (Spanish homemade WB maker) and sightly modded and painted by me. I don`t know if there is any block for this special GPU like the NV68

As you can see, the WB is too thick so i need to create "something" in the hull to acomodate all.

    Complementary works:

Routing the eject button and LED to a new position. The connectr makes easy remove the DVDRW if needed.

Half finished main chasis. Still need some work more.
The colors for the theme will be black, silver/chrome and white lightning.

If you know my others works... yeah, I like black coloured PCs...

The front panel works. I`m thinking in remake some details... Or the whole piece, so feel free to comment. (actually i've retouched the buttons sections)

The new plexy cover. Opening for the DVDRW tray and vents for the HD.

The new cover with the cutted front bezel and the dismantled LIS 2P.

Markings for the control buttons (eject, reset, lights...)

The idea with the chrome buttons. After i decided to change this concept a llittle

The back of the plexy before painting. The rectangular shape is to avoid cover the LIS "screen". The hole in the middle is for the power key switch.

    Painted front parts.

    Some test...

Blackwater, blackwater.... mmm... Darkwater?? What do you think about that name? Is an idea of the great Mashie

Finally i`m not going to use that (was a bracket for the buttons). For the front piece a needed a diferent approach. An asimetrical approach.

Four buttons in a pad style, with the leds between in one side (in the second side... you`ll see it later). This is the piece i maked to hold them, outside the front.

Araldit epoxy gluing/welding. Tomorrow will see it looks. As you can see, also i reduced the size of the LIS screen to only the text area. Then i`ll put a dark tinted filter behind if is posible.

While the front is drying, i sleeved a little the PSU wires. As i can`t sleeve the SATA wires, i tie zipped it a lot.

The half painted drive cage and pump bracket. One level gone and the rest was welded with Araldit epoxy.

The pump location. Upside down when instaled.

    This is the finished cage.

The akasa pax mate serves to reduce noise and vibration from the pump and aids to block, sightly, EMI to the HD.

    Yesterday arrived the Brass TDX:

    It looks impressive.

Wiring the bright white LEDs for the underlight (AKA Landing Lights if all goes well...)

That was the works until today. More to come... maybe this evening. Feel free to comment.

You should definatily try black tubing.
Look at Modsquad's mod 'Black Narcissus', he has a relatively black/dark theme with lots of red background LED's.

    Just my 2 cts.

The Waterblock colors on the Vidcard together with the pcb color and most heatsinks make up a nice blue/silverish scheme? Was that on purpose? Looks great?

I know it. Black tubing will be fine, but is rather difficult to find here. Maybe with dark blue dye or something similar. At least for now, the hull not going to be windowed so, you can´t see the inner parts.

I have another block from P0stman, for the chipset, and also i've painted it in that metallic blue from Duplicolor. And in my last rig i had the Zalman WB so to continue with the color patern i've painted this in blue. In add, it match with the zalman HSinks and the PCB. Since i've moved to this project, maybe, black color paint would be better...

black vinyl tubing is pretty easy to find in the US. they sell a lot of it at HomeDepot, if you really want it. i can buy it for you and ship it over there if you cover the full actual cost. i thought about it but then i thought about how i wouldn't be able to see through it for airbubbles.

@Kaotic504: I'll think about black tubing THX

@Vapb400: In the beginning, no problem to sell the cooler.

    Today little update.

I`ve discovered that i have to move the pump 1cm to one side to avoid it blocks the PSU. But is a minor problem.

Back to the front. Remember we leave it drying?

This how it looks now. Now the second panel is drying. And as you can see the first one has buttons. To reach that point...

...i`ve started with this: The rest of a chrome button. This type of switch is ON/OFF type. So to convert it to momentary switch (for eject i.e.) i dismantled one or two. The plastic is prety weak so i broke one. This gave an idea to cover the fan controler button to match the others in the mod.

    This the dismantled switch.

The last step is to cut a little, the "pushin bar" to acomodate the cover of the switch. Then only rest to glue the frame of the button hiding the nut.

When dry i`ll take more pics.

Too bad about that one button, you hopefully have a replacement part?

    :)

Today i'll buy a new one, but isn't necessary at all (if i don't put more lights maybe...) because i'm going to use the parts to cover the fan switch. I'll make more pics to show you how it looks behind the front.
