Personally I prefer more people. A server full of a hundred people playing in a decent manner would be ace, however there will always be a contigent who want to run around like arses.

In a perfect world, 75ish would be playing in a "Good/Hero" manner, with the rest being bandits and the like.

I just hate the running around for ages and not seeing a soul, running into someone a bit more often would give more excitment, but then again all the bandit types etc make this a pipe dream i suppose.

You say that, but from my experience people are either niceish or psycho/suicidal fresh spawns, or are armed and will have a go at killing you. It's incredibly rare that you come across an armed player that doesn't just start shooting. In the 80 odd game hours I've clocked I've only met 4 or 5 and I'm sure the likelihood of that drops if you're not in a squad.

It's a bit like a lottery with who you meet and what they're going to be like I suppose.

Thats why I say its more a pipe dream, most people are going to shoot first.

At the moment I'd agree, currently server admins have next to no tools to combat things like cheaters, hackers, glitches let alone go after people who KOS or camp etc. Once they have those tools then at least on some servers will be able to enforce those types of things. Only then would the high player count servers be good for anything but PvP.

On the subject of KOS, an eerie thought that comes to mind is how many people don't KOS without you knowing it?

There are plenty of times where I've seen a player and simply watched them run off totally unaware of my presence. It stands to reason that other players have done the same thing. It's a little unnerving, and there's no way of knowing how often it happens.

New experimental patch went live today and we have patch notes this time: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/175096-update-rev-036115535-experimental-branch/

Plenty of map changes, police stations are everywhere now. Apparently Elektro has changed quite a bit (from what I heard on the "other" forums) but it was pitch dark when we got there so never actually checked it out. Weather at least on experimental is a lot more frequent, mostly rain. This is likely to test the new "soaked" status effect, where you get wet your clothes get wet and supposedly you can get ill from it. Although getting ill from it might not of been added yet.

That is true yes. I guess some people are decent at being stealthy as well, so avoid pretty much everyone. Being armed though (at least for me) makes me more bold and brazen and I suspect at least for most players the same is true. Frankly if you follow the roads, head to well known towns and weapon spawns then honestly you know the risks and expect it 99 times out of 100.

I'm still annoyed at that friendly guy who didn't pay attention to my warning shots. I'm gonna say it was a "suicide by cop" type situation, but still I actually feel kinda bad for him he probably just wanted to join us :/

Indeed, it was a bit odd near the end where he kept coming back, first time sure, second time was just strange. Either he was up to no good and wanted to kill and loot us as we logged out or was worried we were lying about logging out. I'm still honestly surprised "someone" didn't kill him at some point during the journey to Elektro, so he lasted longer than expected.

Well the original statement implied it was one of us. I think that's a fair judgement to be fair.

My latest character is starving and is stood out in the middle of no where.

Need to go kill him off and then get back to gearing and killing.

    Lol

I have a bad habit of doing the opposite. The better my weapon the safer I play, and when unarmed it's total YOLO mode. More to lose type of thing.

Definitely some truth to just expecting it some areas, though. Military spawns, Elektro, even near spawn points because of the spawn campers. Some areas I just won't go to unless the loot or enjoyment is worth possibly losing my character.

Yeah there is that, you get sort of a feeling of freedom when you are a fresh spawn.

Just got my character fully geared again after an 'incident', went to a safe spot to admire my guy and it bugged for no reason and killed me! Then I got the respawn bug and couldn't do anything.

Having to play on hardcore servers at the moment which is actually quite a nice change but I must say I'm getting a little bored of the same thing over and over again...
