Steam DayZ Thread (Standalone)

There are no shotguns in the game at the moment.

 

So I have been carrying that ammo for no reason . Mind I think I have been carrying all sorts with no real use for it just yet at this stage of development

 

The three floor school/office building always has some sort of firearm related spawn in the room on the third floor. You can get unlucky and only find accessories, but there'll typically be at least one firearm.

 

Ive been watching Frankie for almost a year now. Love his take on things and his channel in general. hes probably one of the best youtubers for games and DayZ there is. Ill be sending you a invite on steam tomarrow, us Bambis gotta stick together!

 

Finally found some ammo and a PU scope for my Mosin..

 

I have also found a scope but it has a fair bit of damage, cant see a damn thing through it, makes the weapon look the part though

 

Yeah if its badly damaged its pretty borked, try and find a worn or better one

Yeah I popped on, but because I was playing dayz on my own I'd rather just not be on ts lol, unless of course im playing with you guys! Just added you on steam dude if that's ok..

 

Might I suggest to those like myself who didn't play the dayz mod - look up Sacriel42 on the youtubes, he has some really helpful instructional videos for SA although they are quite boring. I guess it gives you a really good idea of what the game is like until you get to grips with it.

 

Yeah ive subbed him, hes good, also rhinocrunch is good, his group just hunt bandits and help fresh spawns.

 

just bought this with my sweet paycheck that had all my holiday hours on it. 5gig download is gunna take a bit

 

Sacriel doesn't upload much to youtube, he mostly livestreams on his twitch. Just so you don't get disappointed when you don't see much from him.

And yeah would be nice to encounter people like that, I guess it'd help if the bandit/hero skin system from the mod worked so that you could tell the difference between a fully kitted up bambi and people that literally just kill everyone they see.

 

yeah, i guess you can never tell because someone could pretend to be nice but actually betray you.

 

That's part of the game. I guess you've just gotta make sure you don't get attached to your character in any way because you can die whenever for like, no reason.

 

Yeah, everything is fairly easy to collect again once you die, i suppose its just the aggro of running and finding it all again you find yourself attached to your stuff.

 

anyone else have a problem with respawning/waking up from being knocked unconscious?

i found a couple people just chatting it up and decided to say hi, when they knocked me out and ive been sitting here for a few minutes doing nothing.

respawning doesnt even seem to happen for me, if i die i have to disco/reco.

 

Never had that issue, sometimes I'll log in and all the textures will just be a shade of light grey and I won't be able to move or anything though.

Also I totally just found a fully kitted out and loaded M4 in a hospital. Shame I haven't been able to find a damn backpack to store food in though...

 

i can only find the taloon ones... my first character i had the mountaineer one but no such luck this time around..
