Steam DayZ Thread (Standalone)

I'm up in the North West at the moment, pretty well kitted out but could do some with some extra eyes and ears etc in the more loot rich areas.

 

Speedy, ill add you when i get home, me and Ninjaplease rummaged about for a bit before i had to go to work. we had issues with bandits so we didnt really acomplish much.

Currently a fresh spawn in elektro, will probably need another hour or so in game before I'd be in any position to travel up north, but it will be done.

 

As risky as it is ninja, stick around electro, im still there. if you got time to log on tomarrow, it will make finding eachother 1000x faster then today

yeah, see if you can locate some medical supplies, guns are great but if a zombie smacks the crap out of one of us we're screwed. And i dont feel like having the shameful death of bleeding out.

 

Tearing a t-shirt (or your t-shirt) into rags is the quickest way to a bandage!

 

Be careful of infection though!

 

Is that implemented yet? I've never got ill in game other than that time I drank the alcohol..... it was new years eve and I made a foolish mistake!

Yes you can get infected, but it is from zombie hits rather than rags, so whatever you bandage with is irrelevant, at this point in time, to an infection.

 

well that would explain why there is 2 different kinds of bandage.

 

You can put alcohol/disinfectant onto your wound if you use rags to clean it though.

 

You can yes but it is quite rare. At the moment it is best to just use rags as there is no infection mechanic for that particular aspect. Plus they stack where as I don't think proper bandages do.

Woop! I had to control my laughing and hide behind my monitor, otherwise my boss would see me and know I wasn't working lol!

 

Thought my character was getting a little smelly, fixed that with a little shower.

The roll type bandages don't stack, but have four uses. The green sealed ones are still single use, non-stacking. Rags still come out best stacking to six.

 

lol! Only bad part of the video is it wasn't all standalone. I guess though that with the limited amount of stuff you can do at the moment I can live with just some of it being stand alone.

Ah yes I forgot they only used 25% each time, still makes the rags the best as you say they stack to 6.

 

what i would like to see added next/soon to the standalone is base building. I would deffinitly like to fortify an apartment building or warehouse so we can have a meet up point or place to store spare weapons and gear for fresh bit-tech spawns.
