My DDC 12-volt water pump started to stop at random making the computer shut down. After taking the pump apart the wire filaments were split and broken around the RPM sensor (blue wire). Of the six for more smaller wires only three were attached to the underside of the PCB to the pump.

Is it possible to strip a new section of the blue wire and solder it back on? And how would I go about removing the large glob of solder where the original wire was attached?

To remove it, plonk the soldering iron on the solder and melt it onto the iron, then put in a new wire..

    Good Luck

Unwanted solder is most easily removed using solder wick. An image would be nice, but I don't see any reason why you couldn't just strip the wire a bit more and do the soldering again.

Thanks for the information. Tomorrow I will buy a soldering gun, lead-free solder and solder wick. Would a 150/230 watt soldering gun from Radioshack be hot enough?

^ A 15W model should be fine. Those soldering guns aren't really intended for PCB work, nor very easy to work when it comes to accuracy.
