well while I was installing my new heatskink (ax-7), I did something that I still have difficulties to realize... While mounting the HS on the cpu socket, the screw driver slipped and scratched my 2 ddr slots... (had removed ram before installing... hopefully...) at fisrt I didn't thought it would be a big deal since it's hardly noticable... but when restarting, head the microphone crying... no ddram was detected! So I took a good look at the slots and saw that they was a little scracth on both... On each, one of the right pins is on the right instead of the left like the others... so it doesn't make contact with the ram and I'm screwed... hopefully my mobo (a7a266) support sdram and I took a 64mb sdram in another comp but doesn't work great. so my question is: Is there a way to repair that? don't want to start playing with those without knowing... thx
i wouldnt even try repairing it....that would get you in even more trouble... id just rma it or at least try to...as rtt said...
well that wouldn't work since I got the mobo since october... well the whole computer in fact... well I'll just use my sdram slots for a while... until I upgrade in september thx anyway
