Hi guys my Corsair 620 seems to have died had it for about 1.5 years. What I want to know is how long does the RMA usually take with dabs? Also should I return to dabs or contact Corsair? Thanks Edit: After closer inspection it look like it might be motherboard although I havent tried swapping the processor and RAM out. The problem seems it turns on and without getting into the bios switches off again. What do you guys think?
If you live in the UK and have to send it to Corsair then it will have to be sent to the Netherlands which costs a small non-refundable fortune. Dabs won't be interested beyond their 1 year warranty period. Binned mine and won't buy another Corsair.
Your loss, the Corsair units are some of the best around for the money. I would send it for warranty repair, even postage to the Netherlands will be less than the cost of a new PSU.
Parcel2Go are great, sent my 24inch monitor back to OCuk for £7. try post on corsair forum, RAMguy usually able to sort it out very fast
Thanks for the info guys. Can you guyes remember the article on Bit-tech about the distance selling regulations in the UK? Thanks
They might be some of the best around but that doesn't excuse the fact that Corsair think they can get away with making the same mistake over and over again, that mistake being loose heatsink screws, a mistake they made with the TX 850 and the HX 850 psu's according to reviews over @ Jonnyguru. As far as I'm concerned there should be much better quality control ensuring there are ZERO loose screws because if they retail those psu's at £100 + (which they do) then you'd think/hope their won't/wouldn't be any problems at all. Not sure what article you're on about but you can try this, it's the URL to the OFT page on Distance Selling Regulations http://www.oft.gov.uk/advice_and_resources/resource_base/legal/distance-selling-regulations/
You're right about the lower postage costs but at the time due to work I didn't have the time to research. I'd already returned 2 PSU's due to the high noise levels, mainly coil whine which RAMGuy and POWERGuy confirmed shouldn't be noticeable at low load levels. I also had a jammed fan on one of them which I fixed myself (overtightened fan mountings). I lost faith in the quality despite them being made by Seasonic and couldn't really be arsed for a second rate product.
Sorry guys. Seems like I found the cause. A USB cable to the front panel had a loose wire. So if I moved the case or wire accidentally it would either make connection or break connection. Leading to some very strange patterns. It all looks good now. Just have to put it all back together again. Thanks again guys.
