    Sleeving and fan swappin'.

Time for an update. I received a package from Caseking.de today, containing a bunch of sleeving, some heatshrink, a 140mm Xigmatek fan to replace the stock Lian Li one in the front of my case, and a few other goodies.

    A Xigmatek XLF-F1454.

20 metres of Master Sleeve from Caseking.de. This stuff is a bit tighter than Nils', and doesn't reflect the light as much. On the other hand, it's quite thick, and takes up more space than the other sleeving, so I'm still a bit iffy about it being able to fit properly.

    Much better...

    The thing it's replacing.

I've always found the case quite cramped, which has made it a challenge to route cables and such properly, and as you can see in this next picture, swapping the front inlet fan isn't as easy as it could be.

You have to move the hard drive cage to be able to get the fan out. Thankfully this was only a matter of removing five screws, and sliding it back a wee bit. I'm just glad they didn't pop rivet it in place. :p

Four screws at the bottom, and one in the front.

    All clear.

End result. Looks much nicer than the old one.

Yeah, an entire update devoted to swapping one lousy fan. Things will get a bit more interesting once the weather allows me to paint and whatnot. :)

Indeed, I quite like that 7-blade design. If I could've had my way, I would've preferred a Cooler Master fan identical to the two others I have in my case, but they don't make those in 140 mm, sadly. :(

One might say that my dedication faltered, and the obsession faded, hehe. I'm working on a new project, which is a bit more ambitious, so let's just forget this ever happened, eh?
