This service is hogging all the bandwidth on our fibre.

I have followed the instructions on how to turn it off but one of the options is missing.

I have ended the task in task manager which stopped it temporarily but obviously it starts again when you reboot.

This is the option that's missing

Click on the Choose how updates are delivered and then move the slider to Off position.

    There is no slider.

If I go into services directly and right click on the service, disable and stop is not an option.

    Anyone got any ideas.

    Thanks

    They moved the option...

    Settings -> 'Update and Security'
Then it's 'Advanced Options', then 'Delivery Optimisation'.

From there you can turn it off or [though this may only apply to the insider previews atm] limit how much bandwidth it uses,

    EDIT: With added piccies...

Ah, I see, in both cases the on/off toggle in those screenshots is the droid you're looking for... that turns off the delivery optimisation feature...

    Yay consistency!

Ooops don't know how I managed to post the same pic twice, fixed.

Plus I'm confusing things as that's images from my pc which I thought was the same as his.

    He has this screen.

That looks like an old version [possibly 'anniversary'], not 100% sure where the 'delivery optimisation' setting is/was, or even if it had one [early versions of windows 10 didn't have it].

As for the branches, iirc you have 'Current Branch' [6-monthly updates], 'Current Branch for Business' [lags behind the current branch by one major update], then the LTSB which is 1 major update a year iirc...

It's a bit of a mess on that front tbh.

So his pc isn't really up to date then, if he's on an old version of ten.

I think that's a good place to look first.

Probably... for reference the version numbers are:

1703 - 'Creators Update' [current release]
    1607 - 'Anniversary Update'
    1511 - Update 1
    1507 - RTM

    I'm on 1607 as well.

Does win 10 not auto update to the latest or is that a fresh install.

It's supposed to, on the other hand they deploy each major updates in waves and while MS claim the Creator's Update is fully rolled out some are reporting that not to be the case.

...or you can do it manually using the widget from here

Ok, so on vanilla 1703 the first screen is the same as my OP, the second however is different, instead of 'Delivery Optimisation', there should be an option that says 'Choose how updates are delivered' which takes you to the settings page to turn Delivery Optimisation off.

EDIT: You can see the option in the second screenshot in your first batch of screenshots:
