Dell is releasing a new widescreen LCD to their product lineup, dubbed the 3007 WFP. http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/brand/3007wfp?c=u SPECS: 2560x1600 Screen Resolution 700:1 Contrast Ratio 11ms Response time 400cd/m² Brightness Anyone else want one?
Sounds fab, but I cant help but think its more an aquired taste, purely on its size. Its actually too big for usage as a monitor. Iv got the 24", and have been using 19" / 20" TFTs for a few years now. But even I find that this thing is huge and you have to sit a fair way from it, or suffer eye strain (partly because the brightness and contrast are so damn good). Its loks very nice though, and the specs are almost too good (esp the response time).
You'd need the Gigabyte 4xPCI-Express board in that case Saw this a while back on engadget which quoted the response time as 14ms...either way it'll undercut the Apple in price and includes a 9-type memory card reader and usb ports on the side. <A88>
not sure id like it for a monitor, but id love to run one as a telly Get some daftly powerful system and get ffdshow running some serious scaling out through a dual-link card noice
I have to agree, if I was ever able to afford one I'd want a really deep desk so I could sit far enough away without going blind.
ouch.. is this with HDCP do people think? i was going to get a 24 inch for christmas but my 21 inch dell crt (sony trinton - i think) is good enough for now - plus with HDCP coming out soon (maybe) i want to wait until it is otherwise ill be wasting my money.
Damn this thing is sweet, I could never deal with all that screen space on a desktop, HTPC maybe. 21" max for me on desktop screen, im getting one of those next year.
I'd imagine it's hdcp-compliant. Anyways, I wouldn't mind one, but I'd need to upgrade my graphics setup... no dual link DVI right now. I'll definately wonder how it compares pricewise to the Apple 30" monster, but just for the feature difference (multiple inputs, for one) it'd be worth paying a bit more, and it's likely to be less. Almost too big though.
£1400, plus that new 14% EU tax, this ain't gonna be cheap. Any chance of another news competition to win this (or 3) bigz?
