I've got a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop. The screen wasn't working, so I changed the inverter. No joy. I changed the Ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard. No joy. I changed the screen. No joy. The laptop worked fine with an external monitor so I knew if wasn't a graphics issue. I could still see a faint image on the laptop screen, so I thought maybe the new inverter was faulty and tried another one. Still no change. I decided to change the motherboard as I thought it might be the port on the motherboard that was faulty. Still no joy. Now the laptop wont even display on the external monitor. It powers on but not much happens. The optical can open, the fan runs for about 5 seconds then stops. That's about it. Can anyone please help?
