    Hi all,

I have just bought a Dell P2411H monitor. My first impression is that the whole display color turns to be a little more purplish or bluish comparing with 2 of my previous monitors: Hanns 19inch monitor and another Necc 19inch monitor.

I an not sure any users who have this Dell monitor have the same feeling?

Any recommendacation of color calibration tool I could use to make sure the correctness of monitor color output?

    Thanks
    Hardy

How do you know your previous monitors were correct? You will get used to anything after staring at it for a while. Stand in a darkened room lit by a pink light for 30 minutes then go outside. The world will look bright green for at least 10 minutes until your eyes adjust.

The Pantone Huey is a budget colorimeter that will calibrate your screen, but it's not brilliant. Accuracy starts at the Datacolor Spyder 3, which is probably the best budget calibrator.

Even the Huey costs around £50 though.

You could just have a stab at doing it visually by going to http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/
