Modding delta fan questions

    Oh, and I forgot....

    ....something very important with regards to Delta fans I forgot to mention. Do NOT run a Delta fan from a mobo header otherwise it will not work! :nono:

    It is safest to run a Delta straight from a molex or a good quality fan controller that can handle fans rated up to 12W. Such controllers I know that can are made by Akasa, Vantec, Nexus, and Zalman. Though there may be others, but do check the specs carefully and make sure it can handle a 12W fan or those finger chopping Delta blades won't be able to chop through melted butter. :p

    Really? I run my 92mm Delta from a mobo header and it works great.

    [EDIT] OHHH i see, ur talking about the screaming deltas. Mines fast but wont chop my finger off.

    I was generalizing a little, but you are right you can run some of the lower rated Delta HHE and VHE fans (usually 4W and below) from mobo headers.

    Glad to know you still have all your digits. :naughty:
