flapjackboy is right -When the gun is firing, the net force on the plane (from the gun and the engines and drag combined) is backwards, as evidenced by it slowing down. So it does push the plane backwards.

At least I think that was what he meant... I would assume anyone who knows enough about computers to be here is intelligent to realize that the plane doesn't actually stop and move backwards when it fires the gun (it would obviously fall out of the sky in that situation), just that the gun pushes back against the plane and slows it down a few mph.

 

The only reason it slows the plane a tiny amount is because they don't go cyclic, because they know it slows the plane down a lot And a single burp from the gun is a ****ton of DU and the target isn't there any more, anyway... that's also a factor...

I however get the JSF doing aerobatics over my house regularly and the air raid sirens get tested every friday, which is fun after a night shift.
Oh and when ever the US wants to bomb someone the stealths hang out round our way too.....And all the hippy protestors that follow them around.

 

That's not an embryo or a fetus either.
It's an egg and sperm. I don't even think they are fertilized yet.

 

I get the aerobatics over my house and the town i live in as well, its a daily basis. 3 bases in the town/county. Mainly Ospreys and Apaches, but you do get the occasional F-22 out here. We also get some of the cargo planes (not sure which model) every once in a while. We never get the Air Raid sirens or any stealth aircraft out our way, but what we get is still pretty awesome. I'll have to get some pics next time the Marines decide to do a sunset/waterfront landing.
