    Hi

I'm trying to deploy a new color laser across my network. It's connected to the main PDC via a TCP/IP port, works fine & is also set to be shared & listedf within AD (I'm running Windows Server 2003)

I'm just wondering if its possible to choose which workstations/users can have access to this printer & automatically map to it or remove it from client pc's depending on these rules, for example, Dave is allowed to print to the printer, but Bob isn't.

Bob can only log onto pc 1 & 3
Dave can log onto pc 1, 2 and 3

I don't want the printer to show up to Bob, but only to Dave on all PC's, so its actively added/removed.

So far, the only way I know of is if its added via the logon-script, but there is a printer already on PC1, so...

I'd want the Laser to be default on PC's 2 and 3, but not 1 (as there is stand-alone on that)

does this make sense?? I hope it can be done!

    Cheers

    Paul

Kixtart Scripting will do everything you need to do with a few procedural statments.
