Hi, I have decided that because I suck at flying RC helicopters. And my rc boat build is on hold until I regain interest. I want to make a RC truck. But I want to make it in 3D first on the computer. Does anyone know of any good free programs that are easy to use for new people? Thanks!
Albeit basic, you can't go far wrong with Google Sketch-up (free version) for starting out with 3D work. It's how I started. You could trying something more advanced like Blender 3d also depending on what you want to do. A quick search on google will come up with some links to download both. hope this helps
If you do go for Blender, thoroughly read a manual or something on it before you even start it up! I often refer to Wikibooks' Noob to Pro book when I need to figure out a certain command. Blender is vast, complex and unforgiving when it comes to ease of use, but once you have mastered the controls, it becomes exceptionally powerful.
While SketchUp is the opposite, it's basics can be picked up in just a few hours, and most of the advanced commands can be mastered in about a week. However, it's quite limited, and at times limiting.
