Has anyone seen this: https://www.nestworks.ai/ And does anyone with more CNC experience than me have any thoughts on it please? At first look it seems like a great deal (if the Kickstarter completes), but I'm pretty naïve when it comes to CNC mills. I've put a pledge in to secure the good price, but I'll probably back out as it would cost more than my car did... If you use one already, would you recommend it over this? (Btw if anyone decides to back it too, there's a referral link I'd definitely appreciate you using, but that 5% won't soften the blow to my bank account too much tbh)
There's a few of these low cost CNC's come out over the last year, I'm personally waiting for them to release and get reviews.
ive been keeping an eye on that as well, only thing thats holding me back is i have no where to store it
I'd have that thing plugged up with chips in an hour. Even with my frugal habit of chopping out a billet that's barely bigger than the part, it generates huge amounts of chips. It offers a lot of nice features, but the discount is nearly what I paid for my first cnc setup. The first thing that happens with a small mill is you need a part that's bigger than the work area. With this enclosed system, you can't even fit an oversized part. There's a LOT of proprietary parts that can fail here too. I'm all for a cheap alternative to professional setups. If they offered a probe/toolchange package you could configure to any chassis, that would be immense.
