The first game is still $10 on steam after all this time. I guess that must mean something. Maybe I should play it.. . . is it any good, I mean, other than being a shooter with some RPG elements in it and branching story? [<---- from what I've heard, don't slay me if I said something not true!] Does it still stand up on it's own two feet or is it, "meh" by today's standards and I should go look elsewhere until this one comes out?

Can not think of a game I am anticipating more.

Talk about pressure though. If they get this right they will be lauded as gods, if they screw it up they will be universally hated.

    Fingers crossed.

The first, Deus Ex, I can say with no exaggeration or hyperbole was amazing, possibly best game ever, ground breaking in so many ways, and never really bettered since, in terms of depth and options and story. I've been wanting another experience like that since I first played it. I've never been that engaged with a game before. And I'm pretty sure in terms of game play it'd stand up against most of todays games.

I'm pretty sure theres a community made high res texture pack somewhere too, not sure how it plays with the Steam version though.

If you haven't played you're missing one of the defining moments of gaming ever. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly, it has to be experienced.

That said, with the third one I'm trying to keep my expectations low, after the horrible consolfied mess the second one was, I hope they don't mess it up, but I fully expect them to. :wallbash:

I don't mind the game being pushed from March to August though, I hope they use the time to polish and get it right.

Who the frack releases a game in August??

Don't you lot go outside in the summer? I was actually looking forward to at least seeing this on someone else's PC if not getting it myself, but I will now not be around for it's release. But even if I was gonna be here, I'd be doing better things than being indoors at my PC.

    Yes, bring it!!

Oh and with regards to "is Deus ex any good?" yes its magnificent but it does have a few flaws. For me the chief pain in the arse is the inventory system, next is the fact that if you leave dead dead or stunned guard lying on the ground and the next patroling guard will ignore the corpse/body - the time I wasted hiding corpses before I realised this...
However I do recall the truely incredible realisation I had at one key point that a character had actually lied to me - I though that was just brilliant. I also loved the choice you had in the hotel room in Hells Kitchen as to whether to stay and fight or bail out of the window as I was told to do - I stayed!

That's a lot of positive feedback for an old game, looks like I'm gonna be picking up a copy of the first one after all.

Are Square Enix the guys that did Kane and Lynch 2? If so, Deus Ex3 is gonna be a great game but buggy as hell

"Summer" is the time when there's more disturbing light mirroring in your monitor.
The source of this light, beyond your window is called "Outside".
    Ehhhm.
No reason to go there though, hardly any plugs and you need much bigger speakers as the "outside"-room is so big.
