    So quick question here, I know what this has:

    Main Feature Overview:

    * Support for all AMD Athlon 64 socket 939 processors;
    * NVIDIA NForce4 SLI MCP;
    * 200MHz FSB;
    * Phoenix AwardBIOS;
    * 4x 184-pin DDR memory slots supporting up to 4GB;
    * 2x PCI-Express x16 slots, 1x PCI-Express x4 slot, 1x PCI-Express x1 slot, 2x PCI expansion slots;
    * 2x ATA133 ports, 4x SATA ports, 4x SATA II ports;
    * 6 (plus 4)x USB 2.0 ports;
    * 1 (plus 1)x IEEE 1394 Firewire ports;
    * 8-Channel Realtek AC-97 sound chip with S/PDIF RCA based input & output ports;
    * 1x NVIDIA Gigabit Ethernet Controller & 1x Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet Controller.

    But my question is will it support the AMD 64 X2 4800 (Socket 939)? I looked online for this motherboard and not ONE of them said that the AMD 64 X2 processor was applicable. I really need to upgrade from a blistering ABIT UL8 motherboard (..ha..ha..) to an SLI motherboard, but I don't want to upgrade socket type. (Just bought the 4800). Was curious as to if this motherboard can run my processor and if it can then I'm going to buy that thing today. :p

    Thanks for the help, and I really just want to start rolling around with water cooling and dual VGA's. :)

    Yes it supports the Athlon 64 X2 chips.

    Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure it does. There may be a needed BIOS update for it, but who knows. I have an LP UT SLI-DR Expert board, and it shipped with original BIOS, and I've since then dropped single cores and X2 939's in it without incident and without BIOS updates needed.

    I'd check the other forums online for a more detailed answer to your query.

    Well sir, if you don't mind me asking, how much damage did that do to your pocket? I really would like to spend under 150 for the motherboard, considering I'm trying to use the processor I have, the PC3200 400MHz (3G)Ram, ...and I think that's it lol. So I'd be building a whole new system, it'd just take time actually. So is that motherboard good on overclocking, becuase the overlocking on the DFI is intense and caught over 3750MHz! I'm going to introduce watercooling to my tower with this new addition and see if I can have room for watercooling on both VGA's, and that's my real goal.

    Implement water cooling on the VGA's, Processor, and north bridge.

    Either way, I love my socket 939 processor and would like to get rolling on SLI, and no BIOS problems either with this motherboard you're talking about?

    lol. Honestly, I don't recall the 'damage'. I try not to think about that stuff!

    I'm currently running an X2 4200+ on it. Stock 2.2, but I have it running @ 2.75 prime-stable 34-degrees on water. Proc cost me like $60 from the Egg. Good deal if ya have an older single-core setup and you wanted to give it a 'booster shot'.

    Also, I have the LP UT SLI-DR EXPERT board; the replacement for yours, I believe. I have no issues with my BIOS or board, but I'd really check in regards to yours. There are subtle differences.

    The nF4 DFI's take anything socket 939. They're a great board, but make sure you grab the latest BIOS revision - head on over to DFIclub and have a see what they've got to now, I think it'll be 9/11... :)

    Probably the best source for the DFI BIOSes is Tmod and loggan26's BIOS Flash CD

    Believe it or not the DIY-Street (Formerly DFI-Street) forums are probably the best source of information on the DFI NF4 motherboards since they were DFI's official support forum during the NF4 era and a lot of the active members were (and some still are) running various iterations of the NF4 boards. A fair number of Street members did join the DFIclub as well, but on average they hang out more at the Street; also, the DIY-Street still has all the posts from the DFI-Street era intact so that in and of itself is a good resource for support information

    Yeah, what Radodrill said. DIY-Street rocks for DFI info. I just didn't want to advertise another forum on here, lol. Paranoid, I suppose...didn't want to step on anyone's toes!

    The real official route would be to download the BIOS from www.DFI.com.tw

    Tmod's BIOS CD has the official BIOSes for most DFI motherboards as well as some tweaked versions.

    Well since the OP is looking for DFI related support it's best to send him to those that are most knowledgeable rather than the "official" location (IMO the DFIClub isn't as good in terms of support) or worse yet make assumptions based on other hardware and end up providing false information. The DIY-Street is also a great place for non-DFI support as well. I generally use whichever site provides the best information for the task at hand. Bit-Tech is about the best for Case mods and latest news; while the DIY-Street is better for hardware support (and yes I am an active member at the DIY-Street as well)

    That's awesome guys! Do any of you know where I can get one of those DFI mo'bo's for a..."lesser price?" As for the bios updates, I'm for sure going to hit up that guy with that bios flash cd! Thanks for all the replies guy's that really helps me with my decision. Had a nother question...

    Will my PC3200 400MHz RAM work with this mobo? Just to make sure, I have two 512MB sticks and 2-1G sticks and would HATE to waste it all. :\

    Either way, :dremel: towards it!

    Well, upgrading from AGP to SLI will def. be a good upgrade for sure. :) And there isn't an update for my bios that will match my OS :( It's Vista so of course there aren't any updates....and on my new system I'll be running a genuine copy of Windows XP Pro SP2. :) Because it works ;) :rolleyes:

    You might be able to find them on ebay; but your best bet is probably to check out the "For Sale" sections of various forums (again check out the DIY-Street)

    What's the exact RAM you have? It should work fine, but you probably shouldn't mix the 512Mb and 1Gb sticks.

    The BIOS isn't OS specific. You only have to make sure the drivers are comparable.

    hmm...well I'm not really that worried about this computer, but I'm TRYING to find DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR that for sale. Under 150$ if possible. The NEW!!!! ones are like 199-205. Are they really worth that much money? 200 for a mo'bo? Be real, lol.

    Thank you, but I actually settled with an MSI K8N Diamond (939) motherboard just the other night on e-bay for 78$ plus shipping. I'm pretty stoked because it can handle all socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors and my ram, so now I just need to get two SLI video cards.

    That's a whole new game. :p
