Had an authenticator for 4 or so years by now. It's been collecting dust for a while as I haven't played WoW for 2 years but it worked straight off the bat when I wanted to get in to D3. It's a smart system and pretty much 'unhackable' if you keep your machine as clean as possible and, for example, copy and paste your password instead of typing it.

There's really no excuse not to have one either as you can get it free on your smart phone as an app! (I use a hard one due to not having a smart phone now or 4 years ago..)

Aside from all that, I'm 54 on my DH now approaching my 2nd char at 60. Respecced my Barbarian to 2-handed wrecking machine and act 1 and 2 inferno are easy/doable and it's a lot more fun.
I can see the daemon hunter becoming my main though, it's just so much easier..

Was away all weekend so didn't get much online time.
I finally managed to get my resistances up to about 500 unbuffed and am now slowly progressing through Act 2. I can't manage champion packs yet as my DPS has taken a beating and is only 6k in my current res gear.
But boy am I glad to be out of Act1 finally.

I'd recommend trying a 2-hander with that gear and a few more dps oriented skills such as cleave with +dps, revenge, berserker rage, wrath of the berserker, war cry with +resists and leap with armour rune. I just leap in get berserker rage going and go to town, white mobs will die fast (22k dps) with cleave and revenge going - champ/elites, just pop WotB (with 100% dmg rune) and watch dps hit 54k+. If you don't take them all, you'll surely take 1 or 2 down and can res up and get the last. It's been highly effective for me against all but the utter worst combo's..

Obviously, your gear has to be somewhat useful to get anywhere but it sounds like yours is if you have 500 resists without warcry.

    It's almost there.
I have 500 resist but at the expense of HP and DPS. I have about 36k HP.

I think it must have just been bad luck last night but the 3 champion packs I came into contact were all Wasps mobs. As you probably know, as melee these are a pain in the arse as normal mobs but giving them jailer and other abilities is just cruel.

Running with Leap plus armour, Revenge and proc, Frenzy and Axes, WoTB and 100% Damage, War Cry and Res all, Charge and Heal.

I may swap out the charge for Stomp and change the armour rune of leap to stun to help stun these types of mobs and also the beserkers (Massive Hammer wielding gits) cus man they hit hard.

Beserkers with Jailer and or Vortex suck balls.

This. If you don't have one already, go and do it now (it only takes a few minutes)!

I expect the problem to get far far worse once the RM AH becomes functional.

Looks like Diablo is going to become a early afternoon on weekends game for me.

Spending a lot of time in Dota 2 and I'm starting to get back into Battlefield 3.

My first char (Won Hyo - Monk) was created on Euro server, then a friend told me that his char was on the American server so I created a Barb (Kurgan) there. I didn't realise at the time that there would be so much interaction between characters where stash/artisans are concerned or that it would be tied to the servers rather than my account.

So now my highest level char (about 50-55 now) is on the American server, and my other two chars (I have a Wizard too now...Kabraxis) are on the Euro one. Annoying!

Am enjoying all three classes so far, can't really pick out a favourite. Barb is least favourite when it comes to play style but I love the weapons and armour so it becomes more about the character building and loot. Set-ups are as follows (sorry to the guy that asked for my Monk build that this is so late):

KABRAXIS - Wizard (approx lvl 25):

M1 Shock Pulse w/ Fire Bolts M2 Arcance Orb w/Obliteration

    1 Frost Nova w/Cold Snap
2 Wave of Force w/Force Affinity
    3 Storm Armour w/Reactive Armour
    4 Explosive Blast w/-

Passive - Evocation & Astral Presence

This build trashes pretty much everything. Run into the centre of a crowd (reactive armour weakens anything that's overly aggressive), Cold Snap followed immediately by Wave of Force shatters all weaker enemies. Fire off Shock Pulse at frozen enemies to wipe out tougher guys and regain some Arcance Power. Trigger Explosive Blast as enemies unfreeze and close in and then just hammer any surviving elites with Arcance Orbs. Against exceptionally tough enemies just rinse and repeat. Most of my items increase damage (weapon has Perf Emerald for increased crit chance), I don't worry about extra life because I'm never going to be a tank.

WON HYO - Monk (approx lvl 33):

M1 Fists of Thunder w/ Thunderclap M2 Lashing Tail Kick w/Sweeping Armada

    1 Serenity w/Peaceful Repose
    2 Sweeping Wind w/Blade Storm
    3 Cyclone Strike w/Implosion
    4 Mantra of Conviction w/-

Passive - Exalted Soul & Transcendence

This guy borders on invincible...has lots of Vitality and Life regen/steal items. Mantra of Conviction helps make up for lack of damage bonuses. Tele into a mob with Fists of Thunder...Cyclone Strike pulls enemies in and damages them, Sweeping Wind damages them, Lashing Tail Kick knocks them away before they can do much damage, Fists of Thunder lets you tele into them again. Pretty much every skill you use gives you life due to Transendence - Exalted Soul gives you a larger pool of Spirit to draw from meaning more life gain. Use Serenity if things get tough - combined with lots of Life Steal/regen this gets you to full health easily.

KURGAN - Barbarian (approx lvl 53):

M1 Cleave w/ Broad Sweep M2 Seismic Slam w/Strength From Earth

1 Ignore Pain w/Ignorance Is Bliss
    2 Revenge w/Vengeance Is Mine
    3 Threatening Shout w/Falter
4 Wrath Of The Bezerker w/Insanity

Passive - Nerves of Steel, Relentless & Tough as Nails

With the Barb I'm focusing more on the end-game, so he's more of a work-in-progress and not as finely tuned. Up until recently I was using Frenzy and Earthquake. Main focus of equip is Strength and Armour class with some Vitality thrown in. Revenge is cruicial for survival and dealing with large mobs. Seismic Slam (at reduced Fury cost) is good for softening up mobs or holding them back away from ranged party members. When they close in I use Threatening Shout to weaken them and then run in with Cleave and Revenge. Ignore Pain comes on when life gets low and I save Wrath of the Bezerker for Elites etc

just got past the butcher on nightmare with a couple of friends and i was wondering if any fellow monks would like to share possible builds/tips on nightmare/inferno (ie. lvl 60) playing style. is it all about the items? has anyone tried a life on hit build? what are your thoughts on playing a melee character in the later difficulties? when does duel wielding become obsolete?

I found out about the Move key binding yesterday and wow it is a massive help!

I'm sure most of you probably all know about but if not take a read of this

I'm loving playing through on Inferno; the game is so much more enjoyable now I have to actually think about my build and keep an d eye on my health :thumb:

Monks and Barbs are very very equipment dependent, here's my Monk build if you wanna try it out (currently level 58 and slowly chugging through act 3):

    • Primary: Fists of Thunder | Thunderclap OR Crippling Wave | Concussion
    • Techniques: Sweeping Wind | Blade Storm
    • Defensive: Breath of Heaven | Circle of Life
    • Defensive: Serenity | Peaceful Repose
    • Defensive: Blinding Flash | Self Reflection
    • Mantras: Mantra of Evasion | Hard Target
    • Passives: Seize the Initiative, One With Everything, Resolve

I haven't really bought new gear since the late 40s, but I'm fairly tanky (I think). Just waiting for level 60 before I spend all my gold on the AH.

    Stats (unbuffed):

    • Damage 3.65k
    • Life: 25k
    • Resistances: 174
    • Damage Reduction: 50~
    • Life per Hit: 493
    • Attacks per Second 2.19

I very rarely die, but I kill stuff very slowly.

also - mind sharing what you were looking for in your items and how much you spent?

do you duel wield or use a shield?

    A3 Hell, right.

Requirements for items are attack speed increase > life on hit > vitality = dexterity > one specific resist)

I've since upgraded my gear due to slow progress at a cost of 250k total, and my stats have gone up to something like 6k damage, nearly 40k HP, nearly 600 life on hit, resistances all around 250. Gear was fairly cheap because I don't have anything with all resist, and my weapons have nice stats but no sockets. Going with a random resistance also makes things cheaper, nobody really wants cold resist gear.

I dual wield because of the attack speed bonus, wouldn't work if I didn't have high life on it. Used to use a shield, just made things go slower.

You can add me ingame if you like, tag is docodine#1111

Thanks for the info mate - I have been reading about fast attack speed + life on hit builds, but don't want to spend any cash until I hit lvl 60 and try to get gear that will last.

I am on 25k HP, 4.5k dmg just with stuff I have picked up along the way, but my LOH and resistance is too pathetic to mention right now....

A friend of mine started on friday so I rolled a mage - must say its a whole lotta fun actually being able to kite! :)

I currently have 50k DPS on my Witchdoctor in pretty average gear.

    My stats (rough estimate)

    1850 Intellect
    210% Crit damage
    18% Crit hit
70% AS (from looking adding up my gear, not sure if that's 100% correct)

My best butcher solo was done in under 30 seconds with full stacks of soul harvest and 20% AS shrine thingy.

Soon as I entered, I popped haunt on him, wall of zombies and zerged him with my splinter rune/poison darts. I managed to dodge his multiple chain attack which would normally 1 hit me on 10k HP (Yes, 10k HP )

If I try to solo on act 2 or 3, it's a pain in the ****. Dem fallen/lacuni be trolling! :wallbash:

I have given up on Diablo, I played it non stop over last week and I am fed up of farming whimsyshire/seigebreaker for loot, either that or I have had a huge overdose :D

No story spoilers here but I'm (still?) on my first character through to Act 4 and enjoying the story aspect. I'm not entirely sure how long Act 4 is, but it looks like I'm around halfway through it.

My Wizz at level 32 puts out 450 damage, and I use the following build http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WiXYdS!bcX!aaZZba

General tactic is to shoot stuff to hell with my dual laser beams (I get so many multi-kills, its funny) and then when anything gets too close, pop a diamond skin for protection. If it still isn't dead by then, the Force Wave with its runes generally takes care of just about anything else.

When the arcane power runs a bit low, pop a frost nova and hack away with the spectral blade LMB attack.

    Bliss.

Not much longer and I'll be on my first Diablo run and into Nightmare. Woo!
