Okay, hi everybody. Ive drooled over Bit-tech case mod for a year now, but I had only been posting in a different forum. However i happen to think bit-tech kicks @$$ and i want to try to contribute. Okay back on topic

Meet the cable modem mod. definetly still in progress. The inspiration from this mod came from a friend of mine, you might know him as ATI Loyalist. Anywho, i am taking my rather bland looking cable modem and i was bored, so the idea is this

I will be using to extra Black Lian Li cd bay covers i had around as the end caps to a new enclousure for my CM.

And i will be using aluminum diamond plate to finish everything between the two lianli face plates. However this is where i need help. I cannot find the correct hardware to mount the lian li face plates, and the diamond plates, and the CB PCB. so, i will post a little paint diagram as soon as i can

You need to post some work in progress pics pretty soon before this gets moved to modding...other than that, it sounds like an original idea, good luck :)

yes we need some more pics and for your question you should use some metal to metal type glue cant think og one at the mment but you should use that you attach the blanks or you can just drill and thread some holes for mounting it

    Okay, finally an update

I bought this diamond plate at a place called Capitol Metals in downtown Phoenix for 28$, a steal IMO

Here you can see that i have used some angle aluminum, also from Capitol Metals (5$) I used it in between the Lian Li covers to creater the frame where i will mount the diamond plate onto. You can also see the holes drilled and filled for the cable, power, and cat5

I have that same drill press... never knew you could hang the little chuck tightener there though.

is it themed around a case you have, or is this something totally different?

i would have to agree they do look like female ide ports dont know why a cable modem would have female ide ports though but the com one could be for flashing the firmware etc
