Did I fry my MB? (Update - It's alive!!!!!)

    Ah, the wonders of unkeyed cables - usually they will have two notches on the side that would normally feature the key.

    The one thing i would REALLY love from a manufacturer would be if they just followed the standards for headers, so i could plug in USB/Firewire/Audio in 5 seconds, rather than 5 seconds a pin

    I know.... my girl's kinda pissed about that one. Oh Well! I always wanted a socket 754 -- and now I'm the proud owner of one. (Plus this little board screams with this new Duron 1800. I'm really pleased. The new cooling fan I put on it makes is simply amazing. A Thermaltake TR2 M1 --- under full load it's 34C. And quiet too!

    By the sounds of it, it's a cap discharge that was needed. I sometimes have that problem if someone hasn't seated their board correctly.

    Just needed to unplug the case from the mains and all peripherals overnight.
