Modding Diffusing LEDs

    I need to be able to Diffuse a white led to act kinda like a bulb and not a spot... what is the best way to do this with a standard 20 degree viewing angle LED? Is sanding the LED surface effective? want to know of your experiences before I paper a 3 quid LED for nothing!!!!

    Or do you have perhaps another solution?

    Sanding is effective. If you like, you can aim it into a piece of acrylic (hell, anything clear) that you sand instead.

    wow, prompt answer at 4 am!!!!

    hmm... the thing is the LED will have to fit into something solid and nearly seethrough so I'm hoping sanding will suffice.

    How about spraying it with glass frosting?
