ok peeps still trying to decide whether to buy a digital cam or a normal one? I needa know how much memory costs nowadays for digital cameras? And how many pix can be stored on them n stuff. thanks peeps.
Memory seems pretty cheap depending on what kind you need; MemorySticks for Sony cams are still pretty killer in the UK (iirc) but other kinds are getting pretty cheap; saw a 16MB Scandisk Memory card in a Photo-shop window today for £15 so it can't be all that bad
Memory prices depend on what type of memory you get, what brand, what size etc etc... How many pics you can store on a memory stick depends on what resolution and quality you set your camera on. But for an example my Sony camera at 1600x1200 at the highest quality on a 64mb stick i can fit about 66 pictures, i think its roughly 1mb per pic at top res/quality for most cameras. The money for memory sticks is easily cancelled out by the inconvienience, time and expensence of having them developed. I've had my camera since April and its SO much better then film, u can see the picutres u have taken instantly and upload them straight onto your pc.
i have a 128mb in my camera and it holds about 90 or so in highest quality, or about 3k in lower quality i for the 128mb smartmedia for $30, memory is very cheap if you look hard enough, and it is reusable so you only need the one go digital. definitely
