Windows Dirt 2 PC demo out now !!!

bollocks, steam release date has been put back to the 4th for us in the uk

 

Demo is live now! Lots of mirrors but not on fileplanet or steam yet, but gamershell is giving it to me at 1.2Mb/sec so it's all good

 

tis good, not sure on this x-games stuff tho but still. plays nice with a keyboard and looks better then those laughable consoles, only gripe ive encountered so far is that you can only change visual settings ingame as oposed to the options menu, but then again i didnt see an options menu

 

Downloading now 1.3GB though

Does yours run really badly (terrible frame rate) in the opening menu in the trailer but much, much better when you got outside and during a race? Mine does, it's really odd.

 

nope, i get a solid 60 fps with vsync on.

btw the options menu is on your right as you get outside the tralier.

Mine does the same, weird. While i am inside the hut thing i get about 5 fps, as soon as i step outside it shoots up :S Not too impressed by the demo tbh.

 

5fps?! what the hell do you have under the bonnet?!

 

My pc is fine lol, and the game runs fine, except for in the first bit of the menu inside.

The demo is great, shame about only two tracks, but with a 4870 512MB I get ~60fps on high (not Ultra)

I also managed to roll and flip the Trailblazer Mitsubishi on only my second try at the track
And roll the Baja on the first corner on the first try

I'll probably pick this up a while after it's released, when it's cheapy-cheap.

 

managed to crank it up to 1920x1200 with v-sync on and 4x AA and it kept at around 60fps.

Odd thing is i get a small half-second pause every 20secs or so, but that may be something on my PC and not the game...

Does seem lots of fun though, only tempered by my lack of driving ability
Probably will wait for a steam sale then buy it.

 

Downloading now, was going to get this game on release but may have to wait a bit. Been reading good things about it though.

 

I am not very impressed with this - was expecting more really looking at the vids available.

 

More of what? More tracks? More visuals? Better gameplay?

 

if your getting bad fps update to the newest drivers solved the problem with my 4870

 

I guess I was expecting too much from DX11 and the new game there doesnt seem to be alot if any differences from the comparison screenshots in the preview thats why i`m dissapointed.

If the reviews prove to be favourable then I will get it.
