Very impressed, do you have all this equipment at home or do you do it in a work shop?

Update time. Man been in a shed every bit of time I can get. :)

    Made steering mount plates.

    Plate 1 side 1.

    Plate 1 side 2.

    Plate 2.

Cleaned the steering wheel up and painted it.

Putting it together. Plate 1 mounted to quick release unit.

    2nd plate mounted.

Stripped and cleaned up the caliper.

Spent a lot of time setting up the rear caliper.

Making template for caliper mounting plate.

Caliper mounting plate made. 6mm steel.

    All mounted.

Still got to make spacers for it as im using washers at moment. Also need longer bolts as stock ones are to short.

Rounded the side that the caliper is on for more clearance.

Made sone new engine mounting bolts. HT threaded rod and welded nut on the end.

    Remember this dirty old thing.

Went over it with a wire brush.

Used 2 cans of degreaser and waterblasted the engine. And when it dryed I cleaned up the workshop.

Back to the engine and attacked is again with wire brush and wire wheel in drill. Got a lot of the old black paint off still got to do the top 1/2 of engine and the front.

The little covers of the engine head. going to clean them up and paint red.

Still got a bit more work to do on engine cleaning it going to leave engine silver. Also going to do a oil change and filter. Also Have been hard at work making lots more panel tabs and started marking out the 2 big plates for the top of the front double A arm front.

Going to do more on it this week and got long weekend next weekend. Yippy. :)

I approve of this template :thumb:

Better with a slice of lime, or lemon is good enough.

Everything is so thick and tough on this buggy, the thing is gonna be bulletproof :eeek:

I'm thinking that since the steering wheel center and engine covers are red, make the brake caliper and a couple of other little things red aswell, like maybe a couple more of the lower engine covers :naughty:
I forget, did you say what color scheme you are gonna paint it?

Brought another Gear position unit so I can have lights on the dash to say what gear and when im in neutral.

Also brought a set of lights to go on the front. If i ever need to go anywere dark of if I stay out to late driving I mite need them. they are about 90mm round a 55w.

Onto the front of the engine cleanup.

after some time. Still got to clean a little more and she be like new.

    Little update.

Little covers off the engine cleaned up and painted with engine paint.

Put my engine back into frame to sort out the chain and tensioner and gear shaft support.

1 problem. Chain is rubbing on the rear plate. Will be a easy fix. other side has about 5mm clearance.

Gear shaft support. Going to have a acetal bush in it also and has worked out a mounting braket so i can remove it so engine can be removed easy.

Made up a new bar for behind the seat to replace the old one.

Cave man mark is at it again. :) total of 89 tabs and still have to make another 8 custom shape ones.

My jig to hold the tabs level and in place for tack welding.

Roof and sun visor tabs installed.

Side ready to install tabs onto.

Madde the custom tabs up for the sides and the spot lights. Here is the tabs done on one side. You can see the tab at the front at top has a weld run on the bottom of it. That was from a after shock on saturday. Just about **** my pants when it happened.

Thats it till the weekend. :)

More tabs made and installed. Will be to hold in a mesh or screen to stop big rocks and UFO's.

    Couple more side bars installed.

Mounting point for 5 point harness in the bottom of the seat.

Made up this plate but not 100% sure why. lol. mite be able to use to mount the lights or mirrors.

Another plate for the front end done.

    And another.

After a hard days work its time for a test drive or make that a 000Kmh test :duh: lots of room in the cockpit.

Will be working on the other side of the buggy this week installing panel tabs and going to buy some Acetal for the front bushes.

That's called a Inner Tie Rod and they make a special tool to remove them. I didn't see anywhere in the post that your question was answered. I know it's already done but maybe next time you do it the tool will help.Hope this helps:thumb:
