im trying to get multiple monitors set up with multiple video cards.
my primary is AGP (gf4 ti4200) and the secondary is PCI (Trident 9046)
the drivers install fine in windows but when it trys to start the device it gives a code10 error: cannot start this device
i have no idea whats wrong, as ive never had this kind of issue before
    any suggestions?

that sounds like a hardware problem? Have you tried with another video card? Which card gives the error when you try to start it? What version of windows? I have an AGP and PCI video card co-existing perfectly happily in a win2k box at home (GeForce 2MX and a Voodoo 3), and I've done this under 98 as well, so it's definately possible. I assume you're using all latest drivers, etc.?

ive tried multiple cards with no luck, using winxp, and the latest drivers to my knowledge, when it instals the drivers the screen attatched to the other video card flickers a few times and then gives me a code10.

    Been there...

Set the bios to look for PCI Gfx first... forgot what exact setting, but it makes the PC check for one before the other.

    boot priority?
i set it to PCI/AGP from AGP/PCI and then i just get a black screen, it continues to load windows as i hear hdd activity but thats it...
then i have to reset my bios to get it to work :eyebrow:

You've already figured out it has to be PCI/AGP, check IRQs, make sure the PCI isn't using someone else's IRQ, if it is, change it- if you can't change it, move the card to another slot on the mobo (this may be easier than manually changing the IRQ), IIRC, that was the problem with mine, I moved the PCI card to the bottom slot and it worked fine...
