ok next question how do i get an entire movie on to a single CD? or how do i use a filter with virtual dub?
Usually you can use VirtualDub or something to re-encode the video to be small enough to fit on a 700mb CD.
Im no expert, but i usually do a 2 pass on the video with a target size of 700 - audio size. By filters i take it you mean video filters? not used them much but its pretty self explanatory. Just have to add the ones you want to the list.
imho, the best way to do a direct stream copy of all up to the last minute so it cuts some of the credits off etc... direct stream copy involves no re-coding so all quality is kept and speed is like a billion times quicker :Q. but... concerning many recommendations to use virtualdub this can be a pain because it's often a turd if the audio stream is variable bitrate mp3. best way is VirtualDubMod a very nice mod to find out what codecs a movie is using, best way is to use teh GSpot
