For those that don't know the Wacom Cintiq is a desirable 21" screen with a built in graphics tablet. You can draw straight onto the screen surface, which for an artist is as cool and intuitive as it soiunds. Expensive though at around 3500 euro So I decided to build one. Well it took a while but it worked, probably more by luck than judgement. Someone saw the log and suggested you guys here would appreciate it, so here it is: www.bongofish.co.uk I'm planning another build, I've decided the Studio Lebedev OLED keyboard is taking too long to come out.
Crazy I thought I had heard about this on bit-tech. But It is a welcomed post and project nonetheless. I was very impressed by the work and dedication to this project through all of the steps. And for a fraction of the cost of what wacom would have charged. I have used many wacom tablets and find that the active dititizers are an under utilized technology everywhere. Glad to see this one put into even better service. Oh and welcome to the forums!
now you made me want to waste money :] i have 13.inch laptop screen lying around. I figure that if i got a controller board for it it would make perfect screen for cintiq based on a4 tablet... anyone knows if it's possivle to get those screen controller boards cheap?
Thats a can of worms I fear only cpemma is qualified to answer. No the controller boards are not cheap, they often cost the same as a brand new or used panel of the same size. check on ebay.
well... i don't think i'll ever be able to buy 13inch monitor, and the controller boards seem to retail @ around 100usd... need to reconsider this thing
