I have a shuttle (SN85G4), and i want to use 2 hard drives. I dont want to loose the card reader tho, which means i need to find someway of either mounting the drive internally, or using an external caddy. No the downside is, my 2nd drive is SATA, which rules out most external caddies. So i was thinking of DIY.

Just wondering if anyone had any good ideas of what to use for the case? Think its going to need some kind of active cooling, like a 40mm fan maybe..the sata and power will be few through the spare pci slot, or if need be i'll drill a hole in the rear of the shuttle. The easiest wud b just to get a external enclosure, and mod it with some holes for the sata leads, but thats not as fun :D

how about cutting a hole in the top of the case, then extruding the cutout by making a box (without a lid)(any material), then mount the second harddrive in it.
